Grace Potter performed a cover of Jimi Hendrix’s “Foxy Lady” during her Twilight Hour livestream this past Monday, May 25. Potter played the rendition out of her original, “Nothing But The Water.”

For both songs, Grace was backed by her husband, Eric Valentine on drums and bassist Alex Proctor. Valentine was dressed as Garth from Wayne’s World, while Proctor dressed as Wayne from the same series of movies/Saturday Night Live recurring sketches.

“This was a heavily requested song this week and I don’t know why,” Potter said at the start of seven-minute medley. “Maybe it’s because everyone wants to go to the beach or swim in the river.” She then led the trio through “Nothing But The Water,” the title track of her debut studio album with The Nocturnals. Grace played her signature Gibson Flying V guitar for both “Nothing But The Water” and the raucous “Foxy Lady” that followed.
