See the talented guitarist lead her band through “Soul Sacrifice.”

Paste Magazine released video of Grace Bowers & The Hodge Podge covering the Santana classic instrumental “Soul Sacrifice.” The footage was captured at the Birthplace of Country Music Museum in Bristol, Virginia during the 2024 Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion.
Santana’s performance of “Soul Sacrifice” at Woodstock is the stuff of legend. One of Carlos’ earliest compositions, it appeared on Santana’s 1969 self-titled debut album.

Talented young guitarist Grace Bowers and her band The Hodge Podge — Joshua Blaylock (keyboards), Prince Parker (guitar), Dekar Justus (drums) and MO Hill (bass) — tackled the renowned Santana song for their Paste session last September.
While Bowers (who performed at last weekend’s Grammy Awards) often pairs “Soul Sacrifice” with “Ghost Riders in the Sky” in a concert setting, she and her band offered a standalone rendition for the Paste set.
