Govt Mule & John Scofield Sco-Mule Tour Continues In Eugene
By Scott Bernstein Feb 20, 2015 • 12:00 pm PST

The format for the tour through the first two shows has found Gov’t Mule starting off each performance by themselves before welcoming John Scofield for large portions of both sets. While the guitarist sat out the encore in Seattle in favor of John Popper, Scofield did play the encore with Gov’t Mule last night in Eugene.
Scofield sat in on renditions of “Which Way Do We Run,” The J.B.’s “Pass The Peas,” his own “Jeep On 35” and the Warren Haynes/Dickey Betts-penned “Kind Of Bird” during the first set. “Jeep On 35” was a Gov’t Mule debut. The guitarist emerged again three songs into the second set for the Mule originals “Dolphineus” and “Tastes Like Wine” as well as the first “Flip Wilson” since 2008 and the Sco-composed “Hottentot.” The encore featured a pair of Gov’t Mule debuts as Sco-Mule worked “Amazing Grace” into the middle of Scofield’s “Heaven Hill” to bring the show to a close.
Gov’t Mule & John Scofield’s Sco-Mule Tour continues tonight in Oakland.
