Rockers Gov’t Mule continued fall tour on Sunday night at the Vogue Theatre in Vancouver, British Columbia. The band’s fourth show in as many nights featured the debut of an original and the return of a cover they hadn’t played in seven years.
Gov’t Mule opened with “Bad Little Doggie” on Sunday as part of the first of two career-spanning sets. The band did play a number of songs off their most recently released album, Revolution Come…Revolution Go. One of those tunes was “Easy Times,” which was a live debut for Mule.
Warren Haynes & Co. kicked off the second set with a “Monkey Hill” featuring a “She’s So Heavy” (Beatles) ending. Next up was “Birth Of The Mule.” The quartet jammed “Birth Of The Mule” into Willie Dixon’s blues classic “Wang Dang Doodle” and back again. Gov’t Mule last performed “Wang Dang Doodle” way back on August 3, 2010. Last night’s second set also included a double dose of Beatles in “She Said, She Said” > “Tomorrow Never Knows.” The band ended the frame with a “Blind Man In The Dark” that they segued into The Doors’ “Riders On The Storm” and back again before saying farewell with a “Danger Bird” encore.
The tour continues on Tuesday night in Portland, Oregon.
