Goose unveiled an official recording of their October 3, 2020 concert in Swanzey, New Hampshire on all major streaming services. Notably, 2020.10.03 Swanzey, NH is available through Bandcamp today, the latest Bandcamp Friday in which the company waives its revenue share.

Multi-instrumentalist Peter Anspach picked the band’s socially distanced drive in style show in “Shwazey” as a highlight from Goose’s 2020. “I loved the drive in shows, I was so skeptical going in and it just turned out to be such a blast to reconnect with fans,” Anspach said on The JamBase Podcast. “‘Shwazey,’ Swanzey, New Hampshire stands out for me. There was just a moment I had with a fan after the show that was probably the most touching moment of my musical career.

“She had been through breast cancer surgery and reached out to us, or her friend did, like a month earlier before the show and just wanted some words of encouragement,” Peter recalled. “We sent an email to her and she was just so grateful for that and then we played her favorite song, ‘Tumble,’ and her whole family were there and they were just over the moon — so excited and so grateful. I got to hang out with them after and it was something else. It was the best moment of the year for sure.”

“Swanzey was a particularly fun show for us. We all [had] Point Break Patrick Swayze on our minds that night, and I think the music showed that,” noted Goose drummer Ben Atkind in a press release heralding today’s release. “We’re so grateful we were able to make these fall shows happen and we’re stoked to share one of our favorites with you.”

Goose’s performance included their debut cover of The Band’s “Look Out Cleveland.” Other highlights besides the emotional “Tumble” were “Flodown” and an “All I Need” that spanned beyond 17 minutes.
