Goose Provides Behind-The-Scenes Look At Recording Sessions With ‘Give It Time’ Video

Out today from Goose is the official music video for “Give It Time.” The song is the lead single from the quintet’s forthcoming studio album, Everything Must Go, which arrives on April 25 via No Coincidence Records.

The 14-track follow-up to 2022’s Dripfield was produced by D. James Goodwin. Everything Must Go marks Goose’s first new studio album since Cotter Ellis replaced founding drummer Ben Atkind. The band accompanied the announcement of the LP earlier this week by detailing plans for an extensive summer tour.

Goose guitarist Rick Mitarotonda wrote “Give It Time” with his Vasudo bandmate Matt Campbell. The song was debuted live by Goose on April 9, 2024 at The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, New York and has been a setlist staple ever since.

“‘Give It Time’ is a triumphant celebration of how far this band has come,” noted Goose multi-instrumentalist Peter Anspach. “From playing small bars and driving our van through the night to playing Madison Square Garden; our journey has been an adventure full of perseverance and brotherhood. To me, everyone singing together in harmony on the last chorus is the personification of that bond we’ve built together to get to this point.”

“I feel like this song showed itself to us at just the right moment,” Mitarotonda explained. “We’d played around with it for a while but it wasn’t until we started rehearsing with the new formation of the band that it clicked. The arrangement came together in real-time just as the band was emerging from this difficult moment and reintroducing ourselves. And so it feels like an anthem of that time — the doubt, the excitement, and the possibility of something new. It felt significant that the song is about patience and letting things come to you and that’s exactly what happened here.”

Michael Nuchareno filmed, edited and directed the “Give It Time” video. The clip mixes footage from the Everything Must Go sessions and the band’s time on tour.
