Goose Performs At 4848 Festival: Pro-Shot Video
The set boasted a 20-plus-minute "Time To Flee" and was bookended by "Jive" tunes.
Goose released pro-shot video of their September 3 performance at 4848 Festival from the Snowshoe Mountain Ski Resort in Snowshoe, West Virginia. The set boasted a well-jammed “Time To Flee” and was bookended by a pair of “Jive” tunes.
Goose kicked things off with the laid-back funk of “Jive II,” which saw guitarist/keyboardist Peter Anspach laying into the Hammond B3 organ. Peter would pick up his Fender Stratocaster to join guitarist Rick Mitarotonda for the opening guitar harmonies of “Time To Flee,” which clocked in at over 21 minutes.
The quintet then delivered “SOS” from their 2021 album Shenanigans Nite Club. Next, Anspach manned his Fender Rhodes electric piano and led the band through “White Lights.” Drummer Ben Atkind held down the rhythm with a four on the floor beat ahead of Rick reeling off some hot licks. The band then cooled things down a bit with “Your Ocean.” Next up, “Creatures” contained a funky jam with Anspach on Rhodes and clavinet before Mitarotonda blasted off and led the band into closer “Jive Lee,” bookending the set with another tune from the “Jive” trilogy.
