New York City-birthed quintet God Street Wine recently completed a five-show tour in honor of the band’s 30th anniversary. GSW debuted a stirring cover of Simon & Garfunkel’s “America” on opening night and went on to perform the song two additional times over the course of the run. High-quality video surfaced of the group’s version of “America” from Saturday night in NYC.

God Street Wine opened all five of the “Summer Swing” shows with an acoustic set before going electric for the second set. The run started in Chicago on July 29, where the five-piece debuted “America” within the unplugged portion of the evening. Guitarist Lo Faber handled lead vocals on the song from Simon & Garfunkel’s 1968 Bookends LP. “America” was also performed in the first set on August 2 in Philadelphia and at the tour finale on August 4 at City Winery in New York City.
