Gem & Jam Festival Taking 2019 Off

After 12 consecutive years, Arizona’s Gem & Jam Festival will not be held in 2019. Organizers shared a note explaining their decision to take the year off and intention to bring the festival back in 2020.

“Taking a year off will allow us more time to get things in line to properly create the best experience possible,” reads a portion of the note from Gem & Jam organizers. “Rather than rushing into something we do not feel good about, we truly believe that this is the best course of action – taking a year off, and rededicating ourselves to doing the best G&J yet in 2020.” Gem & Jam 2019 was previously scheduled for February 1 – 3 at Pima County Fairgrounds in Tucson. STS9, Lettuce, Greensky Bluegrass, Railroad Earth, Papadosio and SunSquabi were among the acts who played Gem & Jam’s 2018 installment between January 25 – 28. Check out the full note from Gem & Jam organizers about the hiatus:

Dear Gem & Jam Community,

We have come to the difficult decision to take this upcoming year off. We want to produce the best festival possible, which all of you deserve. Taking a year off will allow us more time to get things in line to properly create the best experience possible. Rather than rushing into something we do not feel good about, we truly believe that this is the best course of action – taking a year off, and rededicating ourselves to doing the best G&J yet in 2020.

We greatly appreciate all the support over the past 12 years, it has really been a blessing. We look forward to doing it all again in 2020! We are sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused anyone. This festival would not have happened in the first place without your support, so thank you for that!

Please stay tuned for updates throughout the year.

Gratefully,

The Gem & Jam Family
