Gary Clark Jr. Announces Spring/Summer 2017 North American Dates

Austin guitarist Gary Clark Jr. has added a batch of new dates to his upcoming Spring/Summer 2017 Tour. Clark Jr. and his band will kick off the run with a performance in his hometown on May 2 and will mix support slots, headlining dates and festival appearances through September.
Gary Clark Jr.’s first show of the season will take place at Austin’s Frank Erwin Center on May 2, where he will open for Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers. The guitarist and his band return to the road in June for appearances at Laurelive Music Festival, the Chicago Blues Festival and Mountain Jam along with headlining gigs in Toronto, Las Vegas and Aspen.
In July, Gary Clark Jr. will play Glen Allen, Virginia on the 8th before embarking on a run in support of My Morning Jacket. The Austin native returns to the headlining slot for shows in Delaware, North Carolina, Georgia and Alabama between July 17 and 22. This August, Gary will perform at Hinterland in Iowa early in the month with shows scheduled for the Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom in New Hampshire on the 25th and at the Stone Pony Summer Stage in Asbury Park, New Jersey on the 26.
The guitarist recently opened for and performed with Eric Clapton at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Clark Jr. will support Slowhand at six shows in September ahead of headlining gigs of his own in Grand Rapids, Milwaukee and Tulsa later in the month. Tickets for most upcoming headlining appearances go on sale this Friday, March 31.
