Galactic presented a space-themed Halloween show at their Tipitina’s venue in New Orleans last Thursday that included a handful of cover debuts. Drummer Stanton Moore shared pro-shot video of the band’s rendition of David Bowie’s “Space Oddity” featuring vocalist from the concert on his YouTube channel.

The members of Galactic took the stage on October 31 dressed as astronauts. A brassy rendition of “Also Sprach Zarathustra,” aka “2001,” was the band’s opening number at Tip’s. Joseph, who will serve as Galactic’s featured vocalist throughout the remainder of 2019 and into 2020, then emerged to augment the band for portions of the evening. Anjelika led Galactic through “Space Oddity” towards the middle of the Halloween concert. David Bowie originally released the song on his self-titled 1969 debut album. The band went on to perform “Walking On The Moon” by The Police later in the night.
