The Funky Biscuit Re-Opens With Patron & Artist Safety In Mind

The Funky Biscuit, based in Boca Raton, Florida, has become an integral part of South Florida’s musical history over the past nine years and is one of the nation’s first venues to re-open safely and properly by implementing protocols to keep musicians and fans safe. Since opening in 2011, The Funky Biscuit has hosted musicians from all over the world and helped nurture a wonderful camaraderie between the artists and their fans.

The announcement of its inevitable closing hit the community extremely hard, which was evident in the turnout over what was sure to be their last week. Perhaps it took what has now become a temporary closing to really come up with a new strategic plan to ensure the future of this venue, which many have grown to know and love. The fans showed up for the Biscuit, so giving up wasn’t an option.

The Funky Biscuit keeps its patrons and its artists at the forefront of their operation, going above and beyond. After closing, The Funky Biscuit shifted and adapted seamlessly to protocols that will help everyone safe. These protocols include reduced event capacity, required masks unless you’re seated at your table, socially distanced shows, and sanitizing stations at every table.

“No expense has been spared in creating an inviting yet safety-conscious atmosphere,” Poliak said. “With a full array of outdoor seating, a complete outside bar, and 4K high definition live streaming service to our outdoor TV’s accompanied by outdoor JBL speakers, the newly upgraded outdoor seating and bar section is an exciting addition to our venue.”
