The Music Vault YouTube channels continue to be an unbelievable source of live music footage from the last 50+  years and today we want to point out an insane video we recently came across. In the clip below, purportedly from 35 years ago, we see The Meters discuss their legendary career as well as perform a handful of songs in their hometown of New Orleans.

According to the information accompanying the video, the performance footage below was recorded on May 30, 1980 at the Saenger Theatre. We get to see George Porter Jr., Art Neville, Leo Nocentelli and Zigaboo Modeliste play such classics as “You’ve Got To Change,” “Welcome To New Orleans,” “They All Ask’d For You” and “Hey Pocky A-Way.” You’ve got to love the early ’80s fashion style each member sports.  Let’s take a look:
