Full Show Friday | Phish Covers Little Feat On Halloween
By Scott Bernstein Jul 3, 2015 • 6:00 am PDT

The Vermonters kicked off their Halloween show with the fitting “Frankenstein” featuring keyboardist Page McConnell on keytar. Following the spooky “Big Black Furry Creatures From Mars,” the quartet kept things rolling with an outstanding “Ghost” -> “Spooky” segment. When Phish came out for the second set they were joined by percussionist Giovanni Hidalgo, who would guest on the entire Waiting for Columbus set. The horn section of Aaron Johnson, Stuart Bogie, Ian Hendrickson, Michael Leonhart and Eric Biondo augmented the group at various points of the Little Feat tribute. Phish nailed most of the Waiting for Columbus selections with “Time Loves A Hero” > “Day Or Night,” “Spanish Moon” and “Fat Man In The Bathtub” sticking out as particular highlights. The band focused on originals in a third set that featured a rare extended “Wilson.”
