By Scott Bernstein Mar 7, 2016 • 10:41 am PST

One of the most anticipated sets of this past weekend’s 7th annual AURA Music & Arts Festival was a tribute to the ’80s from longtime AURA favorites The Heavy Pets. The Heavy Pets treated festivalgoers to a set filled with ’80s classics featuring special guests Natalie Cressman, Jennifer Hartswick, Bob Smiley, Danny Naval, Mike Mineo, Ben Smiley, Mike Dillon, Alison “Aly” Paige Newitt and AURA organizer Daryl Wolff.
Members of The Heavy Pets were joined by Hartswick, Cressman, Newitt, Bob Smiley and Naval to form the core band for the performance. Covers performed included Prince’s “1999,” David Bowie’s “Let’s Dance,” the Grateful Dead’s “Touch Of Grey,” Peter Gabriel’s “In Your Eyes” and Tears For Fears’ “Everybody Wants To Rule The World.” Mike Mineo and Ben Smiley guested on Queen’s “Another One Bites The Dust,” while Dillon led the group on Clash’s “Rock The Casbah” and Wolff joined in for A Flock Of Seagulls’ “I Ran.”
