Eric D. Johnson of Fruit Bats swung by New York City’s Manhattan Center on Tuesday afternoon to visit Paste’s studios. Johnson performed a solo set for Paste that consisted of songs from Fruit Bats’ 2019 album, Gold Past Life.

Johnson started the session with “Ocean” from the Merge Records LP. He then discussed the genesis of and performed “Mandy From Mohawk (Wherever You May Be).” Next, Eric spoke of working with producer Thom Monahan on Gold Past Life and the late Neal Casal, who contributed to the album. Finally, Johnson closed out the set with a performance of “Cazadera.”
