Kurt Cobain was born 50 years ago today in Aberdeen, Washington. He formed Nirvana in 1987 and the band went on to release three masterful full-length albums before his tragic suicide in 1994. Cobain married Courtney Love in 1992 and she gave birth to Kurt’s lone child, Frances Bean Cobain, the same year.
Frances took to Instagram this morning to share a beautiful note for her father on what would have been his 50th birthday. “Today would have been your 50th birthday. You are loved and you are missed. Thank you for giving me the GIFT of life. Forever your daughter, Frances Bean Cobain,” wrote the 24-year-old visual artist. Here’s the full post:
