Former Rolling Stones Bassist Bill Wyman Battling Cancer

There’s sad news out of England today as former Rolling Stones bassist Bill Wyman is battling cancer. A Stones rep told Rolling Stone, “Bill Wyman, former member of the Rolling Stones, has been diagnosed with prostate cancer. He is undergoing treatment and is expected to make a full recovery as it was caught in the early stages. The Wyman family has asked for their privacy during this time. No further comment will be made at this point.”

News of Wyman’s condition was also shared on Twitter:

Bill Wyman joined The Rolling Stones in 1962 and was a member of the band until 1993. He last performed with the band at a London concert in 2012, when he joined he old mates for “It’s Only Rock & Roll” and “Honky Tonk Women.” In recent years, Bill Wyman has toured and recorded with his Rhythm Kings outfit.
