Foo Fighters made their ninth appearance on Saturday Night Live and first since the tragic 2022 death of drummer Taylor Hawkins this past Saturday night. The band performed a pair of songs from their latest album, But Here We Are, as the potent “Rescued” was followed by the more tender “The Glass” featuring special guest H.E.R..

Christopher Walken infamously introduced Foo Fighters on a 2003 SNL episode by putting the emphasis on “Fighters.” The legendary actor made a cameo to introduce the band’s “Rescued” performance last Saturday and this time around nailed the pronunciation of “Foo Fighters.”

Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl showed off his comedic skills with appearances in two sketches, serving as a doctor in one and as a redneck uncle in another. Host Nate Bargatze went on to introduce Foo Fighters for the version of “The Glass” with unannounced guest H.E.R. joining on guitar and vocals.
