Foo Fighters delivered a headlining set at Lollapalooza Chile on Friday at the Parque Bicentenario de Cerrillos in Santiago. Dave Grohl and company welcomed Jane’s Addiction frontman Perry Farrell for “Been Caught Stealing” from the Jane’s Addiction catalog.

Foo Fighters got things underway with keyboardist Rami Jaffee providing accompaniment for Grohl on the intro to “Times Like These” before the full band joined in for the One By One (2002) standout. Foo continued with “The Pretender” and “Learn To Fly” before getting into more recent material with “No Son of Mine,” off their latest album Medicine At Midnight, and “The Sky Is A Neighborhood” from their previous record, 2017’s Concrete Gold, and a return to Medicine with “Shame Shame.”

After “Breakout,” Grohl delivered the intro to classic “My Hero” ahead of the band joining in. A pair of tunes, “These Days” and “Walk,” from the 2011 LP Wasting Light followed. Dave then presided over the band intro medley. Up first guitarist, Chris Shiflett offered some shred before bassist Nate Mendel delivered John Entwistle of The Who’s iconic “My Generation” bass solo. Jaffee then offered some synth stylings and got the crowd involved. Next, Dave introduced backup singers “Barbara, Sam and Laura” before getting into the C + C Music Factory 90’s classic “Gonna Make You Sweat (Everybody Dance Now)” with guitarist Pat Smear before Smear jumped into the Ramones’ “Blitzkrieg Bop.”

Grohl then introduced drummer Taylor Hawkins, who switched places with Dave to sing Queen’s “Somebody To Love.” With Hawkins back on the kit, the band then headed through “All My Life,” and “Run” before Dave serenaded the audience on a laid-back version of “Wheels.” After “Best Of You,” Dave recounted his “first Lollapalooza” in 1991 as Nirvana was making Nevermind, noting he attended with Kurt Cobain.

Grohl stated that all their “favorite bands” were there and that a “revolution” was taking place. “There’s one person who made that revolution happen, and he’s gonna come sing a song,” Grohl said introducing Perry Farrell who then led the band through the Jane’s Addiction classic “Been Caught Stealing” (also featuring backing vocalists from Farrell’s band) from their landmark 1990 album, Ritual de lo Habitual. Foo then closed out the set with a pair of classics, “Monkey Wrench” and Everlong.”
