My First Concert: Neyla Of The Lumineers On Seeing Widespread Panic At Red Rocks

Colorado’s The Lumineers were Jimmy Fallon’s musical guest on last night’s episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. In addition to performing on the show, The Lumineers cellist Neyla Pekarek recorded an installment of My First Concert and recalled her experience seeing Widespread Panic at Red Rocks.
Neyla was 10 years old at the time and attended the show with her sister. The pair were grooving along when a hippie waltzed over and offered the girls some pot. She, of course, declined but realized it smelled just like her Uncle Donnie’s bedroom and at that point knew her uncle smoked a lot of pot. Pekarek really wanted to hear Panic play “Coconut” and thankfully for her they did. Watch Neyla discuss the experience:
