From Newport to Monaco, Festival Network Reinvents the Music Festival Experience
with World Class Music at Dramatic Destinations

Newport Folk Festival 2007 by Chris Petersson
Festival Network, LLC (FN), the largest and oldest international music festival production company in the world, is proud to announce its schedule for the 2008 festival season. Kicking off in Miami, FL on May 16 with the two-day JVC Jazz Festival Miami, FN’s 2008 festival schedule currently includes at least 18 worldwide festival experiences featuring world-class music at dramatic destinations. In addition to Miami, locales include high-profile festivals in Newport, RI; Los Angeles, CA; New York, NY; Hampton, VA; Saratoga Springs, NY; Jackson Hole, WY; Rotterdam, the Netherlands; Chicago, IL; Whistler, BC; Martha’s Vineyard, MA; Concord, CA; Monte Carlo, Monaco; and Paris, France.

From a festival set on a mountain overlooking Whistler, to the classic ocean view at Newport Folk Festival to the beach in Miami, FN is reinventing the modern music festival by offering refined programming of musical acts augmented by idyllic surroundings and an intimate atmosphere in order to create the ultimate festival experience. Moreover, FN is partnering with the local tourism bureaus in each market to ensure unique vacation opportunities are readily available to all festival attendees. “Not only are we creating amazing, all encompassing festival experiences for the fans, we’re also reshaping each festival by shaking up the programming for broader appeal,” said Tom Shepard, CEO of Festival Network. “Our goal is to have high-quality, sophisticated music at spectacular destinations that make festival goers want to return year after year.”

Always mindful of the environment, FN festivals respect the exquisite locales to which they draw their crowds of 10,000 to 12,000. Green initiatives are a FN standard for all of its events through a variety of proactive plans from recycling to water conservation efforts.

FN’s live events division, formerly known as Festival Productions, was founded by George Wein, who pioneered the outdoor popular music “festival era” in 1954 with the creation of the world famous Newport Jazz Festival®. FN’s new corporate team, led by CEO Tom Shepard, is revitalizing Wein’s legacy by adding some brand new festivals to the roster, while simultaneously invigorating the original festivals with new programming, partnership opportunities and unique audience experiences.

FN, which is privately held, is headquartered in San Francisco, with offices in New York and Los Angeles. Below is the list of FN festivals planned for 2008. More festival announcements are forthcoming – check Festival Network’s website for updates: www.festivalnetwork.com.
