Father’s Day Bluegrass Festival Announces Midnight Special Concerts & 2024 Daily Lineups
Laurie Lewis will celebrate women in bluegrass and Frank Solivan will team with his pickin’ buddies for the new after-hours shows.

The California Bluegrass Association will present the 49th annual Father's Day Bluegrass Festival at the scenic Nevada County Fairgrounds in Grass Valley, California June 13 – 16. The daily lineups for the 2024 event have been confirmed, along with two late-night Midnight Special concerts and the slate of artists performing afternoon sets on Vern’s Stage.
The intimate, separately ticketed Midnight Special concerts will be held at Ponderosa Hall, a venue adjacent to the Main Stage. Fiddler and singer-songwriter Laurie Lewis will enlist an array of all-star friends on Friday, June 14 for an after-hours event dubbed “Celebrating Women in Bluegrass.” Then, on Saturday, June 15, mandolinist Frank Solivan will be joined by several pickin’ pals for a late-night performance titled “The Grass Valley Spirit.”

Danny Paisley and The Southern Grass, The Horsenecks, Country Gongbang, Tray Wellington Band and Trouble Town are a few of the acts that will help open the 2024 Father’s Day Bluegrass Festival with performances on Thursday, June 14. Artists performing at the event on Friday, June 15 include Sister Sadie, Danny Paisley and The Southern Grass, The Horsenecks, Rick Faris Band and Salty Sally, among others.
The Allison Brown Band tops the bill on Saturday, June 15 after sets from Sister Sadie, Lonesome River Band, Rick Faris Band, Frank Solivan & Dirty Kitchen, Paul Brown, Terri McMurray and more. Brown’s ensemble will also close out the Father’s Day Bluegrass Festival on Sunday, June 16 following performances by Lonesome River Band, Frank Solivan & Dirty Kitche, Solid Gold Stranger and more.
Father’s Day Bluegrass Festival’s Vern’s Stage, which is named after Vern Williams, who helped introduce bluegrass to the West Coast, will host sets Thursday through Saturday afternoons. Lucas Lawson & The Unturned Stone, The Crooked Holler String Band, John Barleycorn, Bean Creek, Hydra-Matic Drive Bluegrass Band and Bluegrass Holiday are among artists set to play Vern’s Stage this June.
