Fare Thee Well Audio & Video Details Announcement

Between July 3 – 5, Grateful Dead members Phil Lesh, Mickey Hart, Bob Weir and Bill Kreutzmann came together with guitarist Trey Anastasio and keyboardists Bruce Hornsby and Jeff Chimenti for three Fare Thee Well – Celebrating 50 Years Of Grateful Dead performances at Soldier Field in Chicago. Audio and video releases of the shows will be available on November 20. Full details, including tracklists, have been finalized.

Dead.net, the official Grateful Dead website, is the only place fans can score complete audio and video of the entire Chicago run. There are two Dead.net exclusive versions of Fare Thee Well, one 12-CD/7-Blu-ray and the other 12-CD/7-DVD. Each package will be limited to 20,000 individually numbered copies.

In addition to containing each and every note the group played in Chicago, the Dead.net versions of Fare Thee Well will also contain an exclusive bonus disc featuring two-and-a-half hours of behind-the-scenes material captured by filmmaker Justin Kreutzmann, aka Billy’s son. The behind-the-scenes material includes footage from the Grateful Dead ticketing office documenting the 350,000 plus tickets requests received for the shows, vignettes from the parking lot scene in Chicago and backstage looks at the shows themselves. The dead.net versions will also feature the intermission music for all three shows from Neal Casal’s Circles Around The Sun (Casal, Dan Horne, Mark Levy and Adam MacDougall).

Beyond the Dead.net versions, several other Fare Thee Well audio/video packages will be available on November 20 including audio and video (Blu-ray and DVD) from the epic final show on July 5 as well as the 2-CD set THE BEST OF FARE THEE WELL, featuring 16 tracks spanning all three nights in Chicago.
