Exclusive Premiere: Turkuaz ‘Digitonium’
By Scott Bernstein Oct 1, 2015 • 10:45 am PDT

Tomorrow, Brooklyn-based funk/soul collective Turkuaz release their latest studio album Digitonium via Techne Records. The LP marks a major progression for the group who brought some of the energy of their live shows into the studio. Today, we’re pleased to present the premiere of the title track from the record – “Digitonium.”
“Digitonium was among the first tunes written for this record. With a title borrowed from an old Disney movie (The Sword in the Stone), it’s a playful journey into the mind of someone being taken over by the digital world, and trying to stay in control. Musically it’s definitely one of our favorites on the album, and it has a really different sound from anything we’ve done in the past. It feels representative of this release as a whole, which is why it ended up being the name of the entire thing,” Turkuaz guitarist Dave Brandwein tells JamBase about the track. The six-minute track covers much ground and quickly will get stuck in your head with its catchy chorus and synth leads.
