On September 30 renowned guitarist Eric Clapton is set to issue a double live album Live In San Diego (with Special Guest JJ Cale) via Reprise/Bushbranch Records. In advance of next week’s official release, Slowhand has offered another preview via an official live video of “Tell The Truth” from the concert.
Joined by a band highlighted by guitarists Derek Trucks and Doyle Bramhall II and drummer Steve Jordan, the clip is from Clapton’s show on March 15, 2007 at San Diego’s Ipayone Center. Guitarist and frequent Clapton collaborator, the late great J.J. Cale, was a special guest at the performance and sat-in on such songs as “Anyway the Wind Blows,” “Who Am I Telling You?,” “Don’t Cry Sister,” “After Midnight” and “Cocaine.” The show also featured guitarist Robert Cray joining in on the closing “Crossroads.”
