Elton John will bid farewell to Mexico City with two October concerts at Estadio Azteca (Estadio Banorte). The music icon’s first shows in Mexico since 2012 are slated for Friday, October 2 and Saturday, October 3.
In 2023, Elton John brought his record-breaking “Farewell Yellow Brick Road” tour to a close. A Latin American leg was scrapped due to the pandemic.
Elton John has only performed 23 shows since his farewell tour wrapped. He’ll head to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in September for an appearance at the Rock In Rio festival before making his way back to Mexico City.
“Mexico City has always held a special place in my heart”, Elton explained. “I was truly disappointed that the pandemic kept me from touring Latin America during my Farewell tour which makes this return especially meaningful. I’m thrilled to finally share this very special moment with my fans after all these years…”
A series of presales starts on Monday, July 13 at 12 p.m. local time. Tickets go on sale to the general public Thursday, July 16 at 12 p.m. local time.
