El Ten Eleven announced a new album, Nowhere Faster, arriving on April 10 through Joyful Noise, and previewed with the single “Uncanny Valley Girl.” The Los Angeles-based post-rock duo will embark on their first tour in four years this spring.

Nowhere Faster is the follow-up to El Ten Eleven’s 2023 release Valley Of Fire. The duo, Kristian Dunn and Tim Fogarty, produced the new record with additional production from Sonny DiPerri. Press materials further detailed Nowhere Faster:

We like to believe our lives can be shaped into stories—clean arcs, legible meaning—but life refuses the outline. Instead, it moves bluntly and without apology, indifferent to our sense of order. Events pile up without resolution, momentum divorced from direction, motion confused for progress. Sometimes the only refuge left is the nowhere of our own minds.

El Ten Eleven’s Nowhere Faster, the duo’s 16th release and 11th full length album, was forged within that unease.

Kristian Dunn detailed Nowhere Faster lead single, “Uncanny Valley Girl.”

“The title is a jokey nod to the way AI seems to be taking over,” he said. “On this track we’ve got a real string section (no AI strings!) and piano in addition to my usual crazy bass sounds that don’t sound like bass. I also started using a delay pedal again on this record (you can really hear it right at the beginning of this song) after a years-long absence.”

El Ten Eleven will hit the road for the first time since 2022 this spring. The tour gets underway on April 23 at The Echo in Los Angeles. Among the stops are San Francisco, Seattle, Denver and Phoenix. The jaunt wraps back at Casbah in San Diego on May 9.
