Eggy delivered a concert at Webster Hall in New York City on Saturday. The jam quartet from Connecticut welcomed singer-songwriter and The Walkmen frontman Hamilton Leithauser for the Warren Zevon classic “Lawyers, Guns & Money” and more.
Eggy kicked off the NYC show with “Laurel” followed by “A Moment’s Notice,” “Woah There” and “Smile.” The band — guitarist Jake Brownstein, keyboardist Dani Battat, drummer Alex Bailey and bassist Mike Goodman — then brought out Leithauser for a cover of Violent Femmes’ “American Music,” a first time play for Eggy.

Hamilton stuck aroundthe quartet on the band’s premiere of “Lawyers, Guns & Money,” off Warren Zevon’s excellent 1978 album Excitable Boy, which also saw Battat shining on piano and a rock ‘n’ roll ripper from Brownstein. Watch Eggy and Hamilton Leithauser on “Lawyers, Guns & Money” below:
After going it alone to conclude the first set with a well-jammed “Shadow,” Eggy launched set two with a 19-minute exploration of “Trixieville.” The quartet then interweaved “Burritos El Chavo 2” and “Shatter” with a cover of Heart’s “Barracuda” thrown in. Eggy finished up “Shatter” to wrap the second set before returning to encore with a song, “Why Should I Worry,” from New York legend Billy Joel.
