Eddie Vedder was a recent guest DJ on SiriusXM’s The Beatles Channel. The session included the Pearl Jam frontman explaining the circumstances of a night he was punched in the face by Paul McCartney.
As Vedder explains, he was listening to The Beatles icon tell a story while the two musicians were at a Seattle bar together. Sir Paul’s animated reenactment of hitting someone resulted in Vedder accidentally getting popped in the mouth by McCartney.
“I think I remember tasting a bit of blood,” Vedder laughing recalls. “He got me right on the side of the [face]. He apologized, quickly, so it wouldn’t get in the way of the story – a fascinating story.”
