Eddie Vedder Premieres New Song ‘Better Believe’ With Young Artists At Obama Center

Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder spent the past few months writing an original new song with youth from the Chicago program of nonprofit organization Guitars Over Guns. Vedder and the young musicians debuted the song live at the Obama Presidential Center dedication this afternoon in Chicago and released the studio version on all major streaming platforms.

Audio Arts students and alumni from Columbia College Chicago, where the song was recorded, teamed with Eddie Vedder and the Guitars Over Guns participiants to lay down the track. Vedder, a native of Chicago, wrote “Better Believe” with Andre “Add-2” Daniels, Joy Viltz, Jeremiah Fristoe, Mason Harris, Michael “Myskie” Hightower, Naomi Owens, Iya Waters and Giselle Castro.

Guitars Over Guns is an arts-based youth development organization founded in Miami that uses music, mentorship, and the arts to empower young people and expand opportunities for their future. Vedder and the song’s co-writers will donate all royalties from the track to Guitars Over Guns.
