Eddie Vedder Covers ‘Help!’ By The Beatles During Pearl Jam Show In Prague

Pearl Jam‘s European Tour moved to the Czech Republic on Sunday for a performance at the 02 Arena in Prague. The evening featured a live debut as frontman Eddie Vedder worked a solo rendition of “Help!” by The Beatles into Pearl Jam’s main set.

Sunday’s show began with a run of “Pendulum,” “Nothingman” and “Corduroy.” The evening’s first 2018 debut came a few songs later, when Pearl Jam dusted off Vitalogy’s “Tremor Christ” after a 36-show layoff. Vedder went on to dedicate “Dissident” to the late Czech Republic president Václav Havel.

“Dissident” was followed by Ten classics “Even Flow” and “Jeremy.” An extended version of “Love Boat Captain” came next. Then, Vedder accompanied himself on guitar for the first verse and chorus of “Help!” Fittingly, the band revved into the 2018 debut of their own “Help Help” from 2002’s Riot Act after the Beatles cover debut.

Pearl Jam ended their main set on Sunday with staples “Better Man” and “Porch.” The evening’s first encore included a rare rendition of “The End,” performed solo by Vedder, from 2009’s Backspacer. Later in the night, the Seattle rockers said farewell with a second encore featuring “Elderly Woman Behind The Counter In A Small Town,” “Alive,” “Rockin’ The Free World” and Indifference.” It’s now off to Krakow, Poland for Pearl Jam.
