A recent episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon saw Ed Sheeran getting in on the show’s “Subway Busking” sketch. Sheeran and Fallon donned disguises and performed Chappell Roan‘s “Pink Pony Club” along with Ed’s latest single.

“Subway Busking” is Fallon and guest heading down to the Rockefeller subway stop to perform in disguise. Ed and Jimmy decked themselves out in emo attire as the group “Frat Poison” and launched into “Pink Pony Club,” appearing on Chappell Roan’s acclaimed 2023 debut album, The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess.

Following “Pink Pony Club,” Sheeran delivered a performance of his new single “Azizam.” The singer-songwriter detailed the song in a preview via social media:

I wrote Azizam after [Ilya Salmanzadeh] suggested trying out making music inspired by his Persian heritage and culture. I love learning about music and different cultures the more I travel and connect with people. It was like opening a door to a completely new and exciting world. I loved how a lot of rhythms, scales, melodies and instruments were different but similar to the Irish trad music I had grown up with. It was showing to me music connects us all, and really is a universal language. This whole album is about being playful, explorative, and celebratory. The song comes out April 4, and it’s really great. Hope you like it too. And thank you to Ilya for introducing me to such a fantastic world and culture. And thank you to [Savan Kotecha] and [Snow Patrol’s Johnny McDaid] for helping create this with us.
