The soundtrack for the new documentary Echo In The Canyon features songs from the Laurel Canyon music scene (1965 – 1967) interpreted by the likes of Neil Young, Jakob Dylan, Jade Castrinos, Beck and Fiona Apple. Jakob Dylan and Jade Castrinos’ version of The Mamas & The Papas’ “Go Where You Wanna Go” is the first single shared from the 13-track LP, which is due out on May 24 via BMG.

Echo In The Canyon looks at the start of the Laurel Canyon music scene and features in-depth interviews with Jackson Browne, Eric Clapton, David Crosby, Ringo Starr, Brian Wilson and more. The film is dedicated to the late Tom Petty, who also gave an interview to director Andrew Slater. Echo In The Canyon opens at ArcLight’s Cinerama Dome and The Landmark in Los Angeles on May 24. Screenings of the film at New York City’s Angelika and The Landmark At West 57 start on May 31. Both openings are expected to be accompanied by performances from artists featured in the move throughout each weekend. Look for the documentary to expand to theaters nationwide this June.
