Durand Jones & The Indications Announce New Album ‘Private Space,’ Share Single & Confirm September 2021 Tour

Durand Jones & the Indications confirmed their third studio album, Private Space, arrives through Dead Oceans/Colemine Records on July 30. The quintet will hit the road this fall for a tour of North America in support of Private Space which features lead single “Witchoo.”

The Indiana-birthed band features vocalist Durand Jones, drummer/vocalist Aaron Frazer, guitarist Blake Rhein, keyboardist Steve Okonski and bassist Mike Montgomery. Durand Jones & The Indications recorded the 10-track follow-up to 2019’s American Love Call at a cabin in upstate New York. Contributors include vibraphonist Joel Ross, an eight-piece string section and 79.5 members on backing vocals.

“At the end of the day, I just want people to close their eyes and forget where they are. Just the way a Stevie Wonder album does for me,” said Jones regarding Private Space. “There’s a lot of the band’s original DNA, but it’s not a time capsule,” added Rhein of the change to the band’s sound from American Love Call to their forthcoming LP. “We’re actually revealing more of ourselves, a deeper and broader look into who we are as musicians and fans,” noted Frazer.

Durand Jones & The Indications are currently slated to open their fall tour at Boston’s Paradise Rock Club on September 7. From there, the five-piece heads to Philadelphia, Brooklyn, Washington D.C., Chicago, Minneapolis, Denver, Salt Lake City, San Diego and Los Angeles ahead of a tour-closing appearance at The Ohana Fest in Dana Point, California on September 24. Tickets for headlining shows go on sale this Friday, May 14 at 10 a.m. local time.
