Deer Tick Shares Pogues Cover & New Song ‘Strange, Awful Feeling’

On February 1, Deer Tick will release Mayonnaise, a 13-track collection of covers, outtakes and new tunes via Partisan Records. Today, the Providence-based act has offered another taste from the forthcoming release with their cover of “White City” and the new original “Strange, Awful Feeling.”

“Strange, Awful Feeling,” was co-written and sung by guitarist Ian O’Neil and drummer Dennis Ryan and represents one of five new songs included on the record. Additionally, Deer Tick has shared their take on The Pogues’ “White City.” The track from the Irish band’s 1983 release Peace and Love was a staple of John McCauley & Co.’s setlists during their tour in support of Deer Tick Vol. 1 & 2.
