Umphrey’s McGee

Umphrey’s opened a five-night stand at The Tabernacle in Atlanta on Tuesday night with a show featuring a number of heavy hitters including “Mantis,” “Blue Echo,” “Ocean Billy,” “The Triple Wide” and “Divisions.” They also worked in the return of the “Frankie Zombie” mash-up and rarities “Padgett’s Profile,” “Nipple Trix” and “Thin Air.”

PhilRAD, featuring Phil Lesh and four-fifths of Joe Russo’s Almost Dead continued a three-night stand at The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, New York on Tuesday night with plenty of Grateful Dead classics and a few Beatles tunes thrown in for good measure.

The String Cheese Incident continued a three-night New Year’s Run at 1stBank Center in Broomfield, Colorado last night, where they continued a focus on “newish” material and threw in a few fun covers such as “Master Blaster (Jammin’)” and “Birdland.”

Widespread Panic

Widespread Panic’s annual Tunes For Tots benefit concert went down last night at The Fillmore in Charlotte, where they were joined by Randall Bramblett and the Megablasters horn section for portions of the show. As expected, Duane Trucks was on drums.

Gov’t Mule

Last night, Gov’t Mule began a New Year’s Run that starts with two nights at the Beacon Theatre in New York City. Warren Haynes and Co. didn’t waste time welcoming guests to join them as The Better Half Singers (Machan Taylor & Mini Carlsson) helped out on “Bird On A Wire” and “The Letter” to end the first set, while Bad Company drummer Simon Kirke emerged for “Mr. Big,” “The Hunter” and “Good Morning Little Schoolgirl” in the second set. For the encore, drummer Carmine Appice emerged for renditions of “Hot Legs” and “Stay With Me.”
