This week, Death Cab for Cutie will issue their latest studio album Thank You For Today. NPR Music’s First Listen series has made the album coming out on Atlantic Records available to stream in advance of Friday’s formal release.
Produced by Rich Costey during sessions held in Los Angeles late last year and earlier this year, the ninth DCFC album is the first without co-founding member Chris Walla, who left after the 2015 release of Kintsugi. Fellow co-founding frontman Ben Gibbard, bassist Nick Harmer, drummer Jason McGerr and touring guitarist/keyboardist Dave Depper and keyboardist/guitarist Zac Rae contributed to the 10-track Thank You For Today.
