Mickey Hart has confirmed Dead & Company will be Jimmy’s musical guest on the February 18th episode of The Tonight Show. Vince Vaughn and Ryan Seacrest will also appear on the episode.
For the week of February 15 – 19 Jimmy Fallon is taking The Tonight Show to its old home of Los Angeles. Last night Fallon revealed a number of guests for the show’s week in Los Angeles and Dead & Company was among them. The band featuring Grateful Dead members Bob Weir, Mickey Hart and Bill Kreutzmann along with John Mayer, Oteil Burbridge and Jeff Chimenti has yet to appear on TV, though the genesis of Dead & Company can be traced to Weir’s appearance with Mayer on The Late Late Show on February 5, 2015.
As for now, there is just one confirmed Dead & Company performance on the books as the band is one of the headliners for this year’s Bonnaroo Festival in Manchester, Tennessee June 9 – 12. Dead & Company is expected to announce their second tour soon. Mayer was in San Francisco last night, where he played a private show at The Fillmore. The guitarist was joined by Zane Carney for his set and welcomed Weir for a version of “Friend Of The Devil” as part of the performance. Watch Periscope footage of the sit-in:
