Thursday night’s episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon featured a performance by Dead & Company. The band made up of Grateful Dead members Bob Weir, Mickey Hart and Bill Kreutzmann along with John Mayer, Oteil Burbridge and Jeff Chimenti performed the Grateful Dead classic “Shakedown Street” on the episode and recorded a rendition of “Brown-Eyed Women” as a web exclusive.
All this week Fallon has been taping episodes of The Tonight Show from its former home in Los Angeles, including Thursday night’s episode that included fellow guests actor Vince Vaughn and TV and radio host Ryan Seacrest. Marking not only their first Tonight Show appearance but also their first time performing on television, Dead & Company offered a preview of the “Brown-Eyed Women” performance via a live stream on Thursday afternoon. Jimmy ended the episode by briefly discussing the band’s summer plans.
