Not only will David Gilmour release a new album, Rattle That Lock, on September 18, but he’s also revealed he will play four North American shows in 2016. Fans in Los Angeles, Toronto, Chicago and NYC will have a chance to see the guitarist on his first North American tour since 2006.
Gilmour’s brief North American tour begins March 24 at the Hollywood Bowl in L.A. and will be followed by a visit to Toronto’s Air Canada Center on March 31. Then, David heads to Chicago’s United Center on April 8 before finishing the quick jaunt at Madison Square Garden in New York City on April 11. Tickets for all four shows go up for grabs tomorrow, July 17. Those purchasing tickets will receive a free copy of Rattle That Lock on CD.
Today we’ve learned Rattle That Lock is a 10-track album which contains lyrics written by Polly Samson – David’s wife. The title track and first single will be premiered tomorrow morning on BBC2. Gilmour co-produced the album with longtime collaborator Phil Manzanera of Roxy Music fame. Manzanera also helped produced last year’s surprise Pink Floyd LP, The Endless River.
