David Byrne‘s American Utopia will now run on Broadway through Sunday, February 16. The musical was originally set to play through January 19 at New York City’s Hudson Theatre. An announcement noted David Byrne’s American Utopia “must close” on February 16.

The show officially opened on Sunday night following a run of performances in Boston and previews in New York City. David Byrne’s American Utopia is based on the “untethered” concerts Byrne presented over the course of his 2018 world tour featuring material from his American Utopia LP mixed with Talking Heads classics and gems from his solo career. Byrne leads a 12-piece band each night through staging and choreography by Annie-B Parson.

An original cast recording was recently released. Byrne appeared on last night’s Jimmy Kimmel Live to perform “One Fine Day,” which appears in David Byrne’s American Utopia, with the Brooklyn Youth Chorus. Tickets for the Broadway production are on sale now here.
