Dave Rawlings Machine has announced the release of their second album, entitled Nashville Obsolete, via Acony Records on September 18. It marks the follow-up to their 2009 debut A Friend of a Friend. Produced by Rawlings, the new record was recorded on analog tape at Woodland Sound Studios in Nashville. It features seven new songs written by Rawlings and longtime collaborator Gillian Welch who are appearing together on their seventh studio album. Along with Rawlings and Welch’s on lead vocals and guitar, other contributors included Paul Kowert of Punch Brothers on bass, Willie Watson on vocals and guitar and guest appearances from Brittany Haas on fiddle and Jordan Tice on mandolin. A Dave Rawlings Machine tour in support of the album will be announced soon.

Welch and Rawlings will be presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award for Songwriting from the Americana Music Association at the 2015 Honors & Awards ceremony held at the historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville two days before the album is released on September 16.
Pre-orders of Nashville Obsolete are currently available digitally via iTunes and physically via Amazon. Acony will make special editions available for pre-order beginning September 1.
