Dave Matthews Band Keeps The Tour Debuts Coming In Toronto

All summer long the Dave Matthews Band has been digging deep into their repertoire to keep the tour debuts flowing. The trend continued on Tuesday night at the Budweiser Stage in Toronto, where DMB played three songs for the first time this tour.

Dave Matthews & Co. kept fans on their toes right from the start by opening with two tour debuts. The group kicked off the concert with the return of “Big Eyed Fish.” DMB last performed the Busted Stuff chestnut on September 2, 2016. Next up was the tour debut of “Lover Lay Down,” a gem from Under The Table & Dreaming that had also been shelved since September 2, 2016.

“Don’t Drink The Water” followed and led into “Samurai Cop (Oh Joy Begin),” one of five songs from the recently released Come Tomorrow performed in Toronto. Last night’s concert also included “Can’t Stop,” “Again & Again,” “Come On Come On” and “She” off DMB’s latest studio album. Other highlights from the 19-song main set were the tour’s second rendition of “Hunger For The Great Light,” a cover of Peter Gabriel’s “Sledgehammer” and the first “Grace Is Gone” of the tour. “Grace Is Gone” hadn’t been performed by DMB since July 9, 2016.

Last night’s encore featured a pair of beloved classics: “The Space Between” and “Tripping Billies.” DMB’s Summer Tour continues tonight in Ottawa. As reported, the group confirmed a free webcast of Saturday night’s show at SPAC in Saratoga Springs, New York.
