On Saturday night Dave Matthews Band‘s first tour since 2016 rolled on as they pulled into the Blossom Music Center in the Cleveland suburb of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. The venerable jam act once again dug into their vast songbook as they delivered a handful of tour debuts alongside a mix of their most well-known material.

Dave Matthews, Carter Beauford, Stefan Lessard, Tim Reynolds, Jeff Coffin, Rashawn Ross and recent addition Buddy Strong got their night going at the 23,000-capacity amphitheater with “Do You Remember” from their upcoming studio album Come Tomorrow. After a take on “Shake Me Like A Monkey” the seven-piece band offered up their tour debut of “When The World Ends” from 2001’s Everyday. Two songs later the band reached for “Idea Of You,” playing the tune for the first time since September 2016 at The Gorge. The biggest surprise of the night followed shortly after as DMB unearthed “Smooth Rider.” The song from Stand Up had last seen action on June 26, 2015 – a span of 223 shows.

Dave Matthews Band filled out the back half of their set with back-to-back tour debuts serving up “Corn Bread” and old-school fan-favorite “Jimi Thing.” The much beloved “Crash Into Me,” “Typical Situation,” the recently revived “Louisiana Bayou” and “Ants Marching” brought the septet’s main set to a close. The band returned to the stage for a two-song encore, delivering takes on “You & Me” and “Stay (Wasting Time).”
