Longtime friends John Mayer and Dave Chappelle have announced a pair of concert events dubbed “Controlled Danger” that will take place at The Fillmore in San Francisco. The shows featuring the Dead & Company guitarist and celebrated comedian are set for this Friday, April 28 and Saturday, April 29.
Controlled Danger is described as “a comedy and music hybrid.” A note on the venue’s website reads, “You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll have bragging rights amongst your friend group for weeks to come. Please leave your phones at home and come experience a once-in-a-lifetime event, hosted by two of the greatest creative minds working today.” Multiple mentions are made that no cell phones will be allowed. Tickets for both shows go on sale Friday morning at 10 a.m. PT via Ticketmaster (4/28, 4/29).
Mayer contributed to Chappelle’s Show in 2004. The pair reunited for a jam session early last year and have shared the stage a number of times since including earlier this month during John Mayer’s show in Columbus.
