John Mayer Reunites With Dave Chappelle For Jam Session

In 2004 guitarist John Mayer‘s cool factor went up immensely when he appeared in a pair of hilarious skits on the groundbreaking comedy show Chappelle’s Show starring comedian Dave Chappelle. The pair reunited at a private party on Friday night in Los Angeles as part of a late night jam session that spanned until nearly 5 in the morning.

Mayer shared a photo of the reunion with Chappelle on Instagram with the caption, “Started a band with Chapelle tonight. First gig was insanely good. And went insanely late. 100 or so people can attest to the magic”:

John is currently in L.A. to record a new John Mayer Trio album with drummer Steve Jordan and bassist Pino Palladino. On Friday Mayer headed to the area’s No Name club where he led a group that featured members of the Lowery Brothers Band. Chappelle fronted the ensemble at points as did Julian Lennon.
