Daniel Donato's Cosmic Country came to Denver’s Ogden Theatre for a two-night stand over the weekend. The show on Saturday, which coincided with the airing of the band’s second appearance on CBS Saturday Sessions, featured a guest spot from The String Cheese Incident's Bill Nershi.
Following a collaboration between guitarist Daniel Donato and The String Cheese Incident at Red Rocks earlier this year, DDCC welcomed SCI guitarist Billy Nershi to kick off the band’s second set in Denver on Saturday with the Flatt and Scruggs-popularized traditional “Roll In My Sweet Baby’s Arms.”
The collab continued with Billy adding guitar to Donato original, “Blame The Train,” which appears on DDCC’s latest studio album, Horizons. Nershi then led SCI’s “Outside And Inside.”
Next, Daniel Donato and company went it alone for “Tennessee Tumbleweed,” which saw the band announcing they will step up to Denver’s Mission Ballroom next year. After wrapping the second set with “Dance In The Desert,” Nershi returned for a rendition of Bobby Bland’s “Turn On Your Lovelight” to conclude the concert. Also watch DDCC’s appearance on CBS Saturday Sessions, where the band offered three songs off Horizons.
