On July 4 Foo Fighters returned to the stage after having to cancel a number of international dates following frontman Dave Grohl’s broken leg which he suffered during a concert in Sweden. The Fourth of July concert was a celebration of the band’s 20th anniversary, held at RFK Stadium in Grohl’s hometown of Washington, D.C. and featured a number of other performers, fireworks and a motorcycle rally. Grohl showed up sporting a purple cast at the morning motorcycle rally and performed a cover of Neil Young’s “Cinnamon Girl.”

Joining Grohl on the small stage for a surprise set that reportedly also included a take on The Rolling Stones’ “Bitch,” were original Pearl Jam drummer Dave Krusen, Blind Melon guitarist Christopher Thorn, Jonny Kaplan playing bass and Foo Fighters touring keyboardist Rami Jafee.
