Couch Tour Alert | Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival

On Friday, the 14th installment of Hardly Strictly Bluegrass began at Golden Gate Park in San Francisco with its first of three days worth of performances. The free festival, which was founded and funded by Warren Hellman, who passed away in 2011, will present music across seven stages in Golden Gate Park’s Hellman Hollow, Marx & Lindley Meadows. If you can’t make it in person, there’s an option to watch select performances via a live webcast.
HSB organizers are serving up a free webcast of the event’s Banjo, Arrow, Star and Towers Of Gold Stages. In keeping with the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass spirit, organizers allow each artist to decide if they would like to be streamed. This means not every artist from these stages will be included.
The webcast pages have been updated for Sunday’s action, but as for now many of the acts playing the Banjo Stage and Star/Towers Of Gold Stages have an asterisk next to them meaning the band/performer has not yet confirmed their participation in the webcast. On the plus side, it appears all Arrow Stage performers have given their go-ahead and those acts include Joe Russo’s Almost Dead (making their Bay Area debut), Moonalice, Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real and Nitty Gritty Dirt Band.
